Photovoltaic ventilated facade
The realization of a photovoltaic ventilated facade for the Podkarpackie Innovation Center, is a model example of an attractive form of building revitalization, where a facade cladding in the form of photovoltaic glass panels was installed on the existing facade made in the traditional “light-wet” formula.
During the design of the installation, the main premise when working on the placement of the panels, was to preserve the existing divisions on the building’s facades (the width and height of the windows and the grooves on the facade), which resulted in the delivery of as many as 42 types of photovoltaic panels for a surface area of 355 m2.
The photovoltaic installation is equipped with energy storage, which, thanks to the Intelligent Energy Management System provided by the company, makes efficient use of the storage capacity of surplus energy produced on sunny days.
Photovoltaic panels made as a frameless laminate of two tempered glass panes, have been additionally coated with anti-reflective and diffusion coating, which are proprietary products of DAGLASS, will significantly contribute to improving the yields of photovoltaic installations, due to the increase of radiation transmittance to the inside of the laminate as well as self-cleaning properties.
What’s more, the diffusion coating gives the panels a distinctive and unique matte finish, which – in the opinion of most consumers – significantly affects the positive visual perception of the installation.
Total photovoltaic installation capacity: 49,81 kWp
Total area of photovoltaic panels: 355 m2
Number of photovoltaic panel formats: 42
